Tamaatar Shorba



I love tomato in all its forms and this simple soup has a nice spicy/tangy taste.

Ingredients:
Tomatoes 5 medium size roughly chopped
Red Bell Pepper 1/2 chopped
Yellow Bell Pepper 1/2 chopped
Capsicum 1/2 chopped
Onion 1 chopped
Garlic 3 cloves chopped
Ginger 1/2 inch chopped
Green chilli 1/2 chopped
Cumin seeds 1tsp
Coriander powder 1tsp
Cumin powder 1tsp
Garam masala 1tsp
Turmeric 1tsp
Water 3 cups
Oil
Salt
Pepper
Sugar 1 tsp
Papad 1

1.Heat oil in a wok.Add cumin seeds green chilli and saute for a minute.
2.Add onion, ginger and garlic saute for 2-3 minutes
3.Add coriander,cumin,turmeric and pepper and sautee for 5-6 minutes.
4.Add tomatoes,bell peppers,capsicum and the salt and garam masala.
5.Cook until the vegetables soften.
6.Add water and bring to boil.
7.Separate the vegetables from the stock and puree the veggies until smooth in a blender.
8.Tip the puree back into the stock and boil for a few more minutes.Add sugar.
9.Roast a papad.
10.Pour the soup in a bowl and garnish with the papad.
